The long awaited list finally dropped today been 4th of July 2023,  barely after 6 months the institution released her Primary merit list. Below is the instruction given to all the newly admitted candidates. Mr Romanus Ejikeme who is the father of Mmesoma, the Anambra student whose JAMB result is currently being disputed by the board, has alleged that some people are trying to stop the N3 million scholarship his daughter secured from Innoson motors chairman, Innocent Chukwuma.   In an interview with Leadership newspaper, Ejikeme stated that his daughter had showcased sterling academic brilliance at a young age and always claimed first position in her class, starting from nursery to secondary school. He said he believes his daughter cannot manipulate her result.   “We are from Oduma in Aninri local government in Enugu state, but we live in Uruagu, Nnewi. Mmesoma is my first child. NYSC explains why corps members are yet to receive June allowance

The National Youth Service Corps has explained why there is a delay in the payment of June allowance to corps members.    According to NYSC management, it completed all arrangements for the payment since June 27. The service corps said the delay being currently experienced is due to the administration of funds by various banks who are yet to credit Corps Members’ accounts.   NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, said in a statement;   “The Management of National Youth Service Corps wishes to state that it is aware of worries and agitations by corps members over the delay in the payment of their June 2023 monthly allowance. “For the avoidance of doubt, the scheme completed all arrangements for the payment of corps members’ allowance since June 27, 2023, and remittances were made the same day to various banks accordingly. “The delay being currently experienced is due to the administration of funds by various banks who are yet to credit Corps Members’ accoun

JAMB approves 140 cut-off mark for University admission, 100 for polytechnics and others

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set 140 and above as cut off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities across the country.    The Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a presentation at the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions and awards in Abuja on Saturday, June 24.   He also disclosed that 100 had been approved as cut off mark into Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.   He however mentioned that universities are at liberty to decide individual cut-off marks but no university will be allowed to admit any candidate who scores below the 140 benchmark. He stated that the University of Jos has proposed 180 as cut-off mark for admissions; the University of Ibadan proposed 200; University of Benin proposed 200; University of Lagos proposed 200; and the Federal University of Technology proposed 180, among others.   The Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, is the only university that proposed the highes

ASUU strike: Ngige gives update after meeting with Buharipo

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has said the integrity test being conducted on the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAs) software being proposed by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, would last between six and eight months. ASUU has been on strike in protest against the Federal Government’s preferred Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and wants UTAs instead. Speaking with State House correspondents on Tuesday after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Ngige revealed that the Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) was conducting an integrity test on the software. According to the Minister, even if the software passed the integrity test, the university teachers don’t have the money to procure the necessary hardware for its implementation. Ngige explained that the Federal Government did not make provision for the procurement of the UTAS hardware in the budget.

WAEC partners NIPOST on certificate postage, others

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has approached the Nigerian Postal Agency (NIPOST) for a partnership that will enhance delivery of certificates to candidates in all nooks and crannies of the country. WAEC’s Head of Nigerian National Office (HNO), Mr Patrick Areghan, presented the request during his visit to the Postmaster-General Dr Ismail Adewusi on Thursday.  Areghan said the examination body was also interested in exploring NIPOST logistics such as using its locked up vans to deliver WAEC documents nationwide.  He said the certificate delivery service will ease the process for those who have sat for WAEC examinations in the past and are yet to collect their certificates. The body wants such people to be able to apply for their certificates and have them delivered to their doorsteps anywhere in the country through NIPOST services.  Areghan emphasised that the collaboration will be particularly helpful in Cross River State where its office was recently burnt by hoodlums d

ASUU Strike: UTAS Can Be Ready In Three Weeks - ASUU

THE Academic Staff Union of Universities has said the University Transparency Accountability Solution can be ready in three weeks if the Federal Government is committed. Last week, the FG had told ASUU to transit to Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System pending when UTAS would be ready for use. However, in an interview with The PUNCH, ASUU President, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, said there was no need to transit to IPPIS since UTAS could be ready in at most three weeks if government was sincere. “What is left for UTAS to pass integrity test is what we have started with National Information Technology Development Agency; we have submitted documents to NITDA. “If government demonstrates sufficient goodwill and support, we can put the final stage behind us as a matter of weeks, maybe two to three weeks at most. The Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu has ordered the immediate removal of the recently introduced “pandemic prevention fee" from fees students of Abia State University are expected to pay upon resumption of academic activity in the university on Monday November 9. The Governor gave the directive during a Town Hall meeting with students and management of the school on Thursday November 5, and added that his government will pay N30,000 to each Abia student in the institution as further support to them, their parents and guardians. According to the governor, his decision to scrap the fee was after a deep review of the difficult moments of economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 crisis & how it will most likely affect all the students & their parents.

  The West African Examinations Council  came up with a new plan to released the just conducted WAEC examination. The date set aside for the released of the exam was later changed due the #ENDSARS protest. They tweeted on their twiter handler. WASSCE SC 2020 Results Release Date: Dear candidates, the Council had planned to release the results today in fulfillment of our Project 45 but due to the curfew imposed last week, it had to be postponed till next week.
