A yet-to-be-identified Nigerian man has died after he was allegedly stabbed to death in Lagos following a fight that broke out at a nightclub located in the Iju area of the state. According to The Cable, the incident happened at Lounge 95 in the early hours of Saturday, January 15. A resident of the area claimed the victim had a disagreement with the bouncer and this led to a fight. “The guy was stabbed at the club after a disagreement with one of the bouncers at the club. After his death, his friends or some people that knew him came to the police, before the police came to the place” he said  Olamide Ogunlewe one of the police officers on the ground, said an investigation was ongoing on the case.

Former Military Head of State, brahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) has explained why he didn't remarry after the death of his wife, Hajiya Maryam Babangida.  Maryam, who was Nigeria’s First Lady between 1985 and 1993, died at the University of California’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Centre (JCCC) in Los Angeles, United States on December 27, 2009, at the age of 61, after battling ovarian cancer for years.   12 years after her death, the former military president in an interview with Trust TV, explained why is yet to remarry.  When asked if he has remarried as claimed by some news platforms, IBB said "No" and also disclosed that he decided to honour his late "by being not a bachelor but being unmarried".  He said;  “No, I didn’t do it, you would have known. “The media still snoop around me, they should have known. British- Nigerian gospel singer,  Muyiwa Olarewaju has received the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) Award. The award-winning singer, 52, was presented the Officer of the Order of the British Empire medal by the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, at an investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, January 12. The BBC One talent show judge and radio host was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2020 for his services to music. FIFA have reportedly suspended Marseille midfielder Pape Gueye as part of their investigation into his move to the Ligue 1 club from Watford in 2020. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted four students of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) Nasarawa State.   The students were abducted by the heavily armed men at the university community in Mararaba campus on Thursday, January 13.   The Head of Information and Public Relations Unit of the institution, Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim, who confirmed the incident in a press statement said the gunmen stormed the community, located close to the University at about 11:30 pm and whisked the students to an undisclosed location.  "The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, on behalf of the management of the institution, expressed his profound outrage at the unfortunate development and condemned it in strong terms and demand for the immediate release of those kidnapped," the statement reads.   The statement said that the vice-chancellor, who has since inspected the area where the students were kidnapped, paid an unscheduled visit to the Nasarawa Pol

Second Republic Politician, senior lawyer and Elder statesman, Chief Guy Ikokwu, is dead.   He died after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.  The head of the Ikokwu family, Chief Ugonna Ikokwu, confirmed the politician’s death in a statement on Friday, Jan. 14.  The statement read, "On behalf of Chief Ugonna Ogonna Ikokwu head of Ikokwu Family of Oba I announce the transition to glory of Chief Omenife Guy Ike Ikokwu former President of Otu Oka-Iwu, on Wednesday 12th of January 2022. Surveillance video shows a homeless man attacking and robbing a Good Samaritan who tried to cover him with his coat.  The incident happened on Wednesday morning, Jan. 12, on a Midtown sidewalk in New York.  A 59-year-old man, while walking along the road, saw Xavier Israel, 25, who was laying on a sidewalk in front of 476 5th Ave.?  The victim tries covering Israel with his jacket but Israel leaps to his feet and attacks the Good Samaritan then steals his wallet from his pocket.  Further into the video, you can see the victim tries in vain to grab his wallet, but the suspect hits him and throws him to the ground.?  Police arrested Israel shortly after he fled the scene on West 41st St. and 5th Ave.  They recovered nearly $1,500 from Israel after witnesses told them he stuffed cash inside his pants.?  According to sources, Israel was charged with assault, robbery, and grand larceny.?

Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has disclosed that he has two sons from different mothers.  During an interview with Jahbless Original Intelligence, Portable spoke about his private life. He said he has many girlfriends professing love for him because of his new-found fame.  He added that he has a girlfriend he really loves and wants to marry but she is now "misbehaving" because of his new "glory".  Speaking about kids, he said he has two sons from two different women. He said: "I have two boys, strong mafians."  When asked about the mother of the children, he revealed that his sons are from different mothers.  He, however, declined to answer when he asked about their whereabouts.  He also spoke about how much he suffered before his rise to stardom.

Akwa Ibom-based Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Loven and her team have rescued a little boy who was found naked in the bush in Eket.   According to Ms Loven, the child was brutally beaten, abused and in severe pain when he was found few days ago.    In a Facebook post on Thursday January 13, the aid worker said that the boy is also very traumatized and had not spoken a word since her husband, David rescued him.  "It has been a terrible week. A few days ago David found a little boy thrown into the bushes along side the road. The boy was not wearing any clothes. He was seriously abused and beaten," she narrated.  David immediately called the police and took the boy to the hospital and called Land of Hope nurse Itoro to meet him there.  The boy is on constant analgesic due to severe pain. Troops of Operation Safe Haven have rescued three Plateau State Polytechnic students who were abducted while in school on Wednesday January 12.   LIB reported earlier that the students were sitting outside their hostel when the gunmen carried out the attack.  Confirming that the students have been rescued, military information officer of Operation Safe Haven, Major Ishaku Takwa said troops deployed at Nding Sesut noticed an unusual movement of persons during patrols and immediately conducted cordon and search in the general area.  The military spokesman said this led to the rescue of the abducted students at an abandoned poultry farm.  The rescued students have since been reunited with their families while a manhunt is ongoing to apprehend the gunmen behind the kidnapping.

Nigerians aged 16 and 17 have been given a vaccination waiver by the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), to enable them receive coronavirus jabs. The announcement was made by the NPHCDA on Thursday January 13. The health agency stated that persons aged 16 and 17 can receive COVID-19 vaccines if required for educational purposes.  The advisory read;  “The NPHCDA has given a waiver for persons aged 16 and 17 to receive COVID-19 vaccines if required for educational purposes."

Kanye  West is under investigation by Los Angeles cops as a suspect in a battery case after the rapper "got into a physical fight."  The alleged battery took place early Thursday morning, January 13.  According to TMZ, the 44-year-old rapper got into an argument that allegedly turned physical around 3am in DTLA.  Cops told the outlet that the incident occurred near the Soho Warehouse. It is not clear if Kanye was at Soho Warehouse before the incident took place. Kanye allegedly pushed the other person, while the case is now being investigated as misdemeanor battery. The crime carries a jail sentence that could last up to six months.  TMZ also obtained a video of the rapper, which was shot either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. A police detective who used a police station computer to arrange sex with an eight-year-old girl has been arrested and jailed. Lee Cunliffe, 40, from Bolton, chatted online with a mother who he thought was offering her daughter for sex. The detective constable for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) boasted in the chat about how he would travel to London to abuse the girl. But what he wasn't aware of was that the 'woman' he was speaking to was an undercover police officer involved in a sting operation to catch paedophiles. A subsequent investigation revealed that Cunliffe, who worked in GMP’s specialist sex crime unit, had closed a probe into a suspected paedophile, and viewed the seized photogrphs for his own perverse pleasure. Cunliffe, a married dad-of-one had sexual interest in children, but it was first noticed by Metropolitan police in September, 2020, following a sting operation. Dr Lawrence Rudolph, a dentist aged 67, has been charged with killing his wife while they were on an African hunting safari and then allegedly said she shot herself so he could claim more than $4million in life insurance.  The incident happened in Zambia in 2016, and the man has now been charged with foreign murder and wire fraud in Colorado.  Rudolph had seven life insurance policies against his wife that were modified just months before her death, and had been having an affair for years prior to that, according to a criminal complaint that was unsealed in the first week of January 2021. The payouts from the seven different insurance companies across states totaled $4.8million, according to the complaint obtained by the Daily Mail. The couple apparently flew to Zambia in October 2016 so Bianca could hunt down a leopard. But early on October 11 of that year, scouts and gamekeepers heard a gunshot from her cabin. They arrived to find her with a gunshot wound to her chest on the ground.

Orijin, in its signature style of blending the old with the new, partnered Fuji: A Opera for a series of fuji-themed experience; including a digital artwork exhibition titled #OrijinalFujiIsArt and Fuji Vibrations - a platform for blending fuji music styles with other genres of music in December 2021.  The multi-layered experience, started with the Orijinal Fuji Is Art exhibition, designed in two folds: outdoor installations and a gallery exhibition which thrilled Art lovers with the presentation of digital artworks by 24-year-old Nigerian digital artist, Bidemi Tata whose works visualized the tenet and character of the Fuji music sub-culture.     The grand finale of the Art Exhibition, an exclusive VIP Preview, took place at Untitled, Maitama Sule, Ikoyi Lagos on Sunday, December 5 th  as Bidemi took guests on a journey using comic-book sensibility to express a bold representation of the Fuji music sub-culture, grounding this age-old genre of music in relevance with new age technology
