Atiku's Children Day message"Nigerian children must believe that things can and will get better"

Atiku Abubakar has encouraged Nigerian children not to lose hope in their country, whether or not they live here or in the Diaspora.   Atiku gave the advice in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, in Abuja to celebrate the 2019 Children’s Day event. He reminded the children that they are the future of Nigeria. “No matter how tough and trying the situation in the country may appear today, Nigerian children must believe that things can and will get better. This conviction will help them see in themselves the solutions to the multiple challenges our country faces. It will strengthen them to not turn their backs on their country at a time when she needs them most, no matter how rosy life may appear in other shores. From chess champions to acclaimed artists, Nigerian children have been in the international headlines recently for exceptional achievements despite all odds. These shining lights are just an example of the potential in you, our children.”

PDP Blames APC For The High Rate Of Murder, Suicide, And Robbery In The Nation

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) have described the escalated despondency, depression and misery in the country as a national tragedy caused by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. Lamenting what the party dubbed 'rising social degeneration', PDP urged Nigerians to show empathy and brotherly love to one another at this trying time. The party also ascribed the high incidence of suicide in the country to the depression and hardship foisted on the country by the Buhari-led administration. PDP, in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the  “rising spate of suicides, slavery mission abroad, divorces, child abandonment and other social degeneration” are occasioned by the “worsening economic hardship, poverty, hunger and rising insecurity under the incompetent, corrupt, divisive and manipulative APC administration.”   According to the statement, the PDP said Nigerians became more despondent after the electoral heist

Just In President Buhari Signs N8.91trn 2019 Budget Into Law

President Buhari has just signed the 2019 appropriation bill of N8.91 trillion into law.    The national assembly passed the budget into law after increasing the budget size from its initial N8.83 trillion.  President Buhari while signing the budget said he will work with the incoming 9th National Assembly to return to the January-December budget cycle.  He also said he will work with the 9th Assembly to have a more workable document that will facilitate the development of the nation as intended in the proposal submitted to the National Assembly.

UNN Suicide Victim (Nnemelu Shalon Iphey) Talks Against Suicide

Nnemelu Shalon popularly known as Iphey is a student of University Of Nigeria Nsukka, and in the department of library science.  Early this month the young lady tried taking her own life by committing an attempted suicide but was later rushed to the medical center.  Her reasons for doing that according to her was that she wanted to be popular. Today been 26th Of May Iphey is one of the guess speakers to deliver a speech against Suicide at the lecture hall of Faculty Of Arts University Of Nigeria Nsukka . Nigerian Defence Academy Screening Test Holds 8 June 2019

The Nigerian Defense Academy Kaduna affixed new date for her entrance exam. Sequel to the earlier postponement of the NDA Screening Test for 71 Regular Course, the Academy has fixed Saturday 8  June 2019 as the new date in which the screening test will hold simultaneously across different centres nationwide.   In the light of this, candidates who duly applied to the Nigerian Defence Academy and successfully scored minimum of 180 (One Hundred and Eighty) in UTME  are advised to visit application portal on the NDA website rcapplications.nda.edu.ng to select the examination centre of their choice and print out their examination card    Please note that only those with duly printed Examination Card will be admitted into the various centres for the test.   Once again, the Academy wishes to thank the general public for the patience and usual cooperation. Stay Away From Yahoo Yahoo Or Else. EFCC Chairman Magu Warns Students

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu has urged Nigerian students to desist from cyber crimes, popularly referred to as Yahoo -yahoo and all other forms of internet-related offences that could derail their destinies. Magu stated this on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 while delivering a lecture at the University of Ilorin on the dangers of internet fraud. The EFCC boss who was represented by Head, Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences, Ilorin Zonal Office, Olamide Sadiq said anyone caught for offences bordering on internet fraud would be detained, prosecuted and jailed. Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Akachi Buried, UNN Suicide Student Funeral Photo

Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Akachi, a final year student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) who committed suicide after stating the reason for his action on Facebook has been buried, Igbere Tv reports. According to reports gathered by Igbere Tv, Akachi, a native of Eha-Alumona in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, was said to have battled dementia for over two months. After threatening to take his own life and two lecturers were asked by the university to monitor and counsel him, the English and Literary Studies student, later ended his life by drinking sniper, Igbere Tv reports. The remains of Mr. Akachi has been laid to rest today. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

A UNN Undergraduate Threatens To Commit Suicide Because Of The Death Of Her Boyfriend

Barely few hours of today an undergraduate of the prestigious university University Of Nigeria Nssuka by name Nnemelu Shalon took to her Facebook page to drop a post of committing suicide. This is coming few days after a 400level student Chukuemeka Akachi wasted his life by consuming two bottles of snippers. The lady (Nnemelu Shalon) is said to be a friend of Akachi and she in the department of Library science 100level. She wrote on her Facebook wall saying  “Have you ever wondered if death could be sweet? 😢”  but later the post attracted people when she changed her Facebook profile picture to that of late Achachi which This around didn’t seems like a joke but sounded serious. All efforts to reach and contact the victim seems to be abortive

Prison Assistant dismissed for smuggling drugs into prison

The Controller-General of Prisons, Ja’afaru Ahmed, has approved the recommendation of Zone ‘C’ Disciplinary Committee for the dismissal of Prison Assistant 1, Umar Adamu, from the Nigerian Prisons Service for smuggling illicit drugs into the prison for prisoners.   Ahmed further warned that any officer caught in such an ignoble act would be shown the way out of the service “as they have no business being in a character reformation agency.” A statement by the Prisons Service Public Relations Officer, DCP Francis Enobore, said Adamu’s dismissal was part of a concerted effort to maintain discipline and ensure that mal-adjusted inmates in prison custody were only handled by those with the required rectitude to do so.   The CG also assured the public that the management of the NPS remained committed to sustaining the peace and calm “now existing in prisons across the country in order to enhance reformation and rehabilitation of offenders in prisons custody.” He said,

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kwara State, Garba Madami on Monday said he resisted money offered by politicians to compromise the just concluded 2019 general elections in the state. Madami disclosed this while speaking with newsmen after his daughter’s wedding in Minna.  There was pressure by politicians who offered me money to compromise the 2019 general elections in Kwara state but I stood my ground and refused to give in. “The nature of our job at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is too tempting. “It is left between you and God to do the right thing and keep your integrity or compromise and lose your integrity.
