A UNN Undergraduate Threatens To Commit Suicide Because Of The Death Of Her Boyfriend

Barely few hours of today an undergraduate of the prestigious university University Of Nigeria Nssuka by name Nnemelu Shalon took to her Facebook page to drop a post of committing suicide. This is coming few days after a 400level student Chukuemeka Akachi wasted his life by consuming two bottles of snippers. The lady (Nnemelu Shalon) is said to be a friend of Akachi and she in the department of Library science 100level.

She wrote on her Facebook wall saying
 “Have you ever wondered if death could be sweet? 😢”
 but later the post attracted people when she changed her Facebook profile picture to that of late Achachi which This around didn’t seems like a joke but sounded serious.
All efforts to reach and contact the victim seems to be abortive

Drug addict arrested for stabbing Lagos cleric to death

A 30-year-old man identified simply as David, who is said to be under the influence of hard drugs, has allegedly stabbed a cleric, Akeem Ojiwusi, to death around Odekeye close, in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State.   PUNCH Metro  gathered that David was fond of committing different crimes whenever he got intoxicated and his actions usually put him at loggerheads with his neighbours. On the fateful day the crime was committed, Ojiwusi’s relative, who identified himself simply as Sefiu, said he was at home when the cleric sent him to buy some drugs for his treatment. Nigeria’s VAT performance lowest in West Africa – FG

The Federal Government, on Tuesday, raised concern over the performance of the Value Added Tax in Nigeria as the lowest in the West African region. While describing the development as worrisome, the government stressed the need for a change in policies, adding that the country’s VAT rate was less than one per cent to the Gross Domestic Product. The Director of Tax Policy in the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Basheer Abdulkadir, raised the concern at the opening event of a three-day workshop on the harmonisation of Nigeria’s VAT Act with ECOWAS directives. The programme was organised by the ECOWAS Commission under the context of implementation of support Programme for Tax Transition in West Africa. Speaking in Abuja at a World Bank presentation on Nigeria’s Development Update, Edun said the Federal Government intends to maximise revenue gains from higher crude oil prices amid ongoing global tensions, particularly the Middle East crisis. He noted that Nigeria, as an oil-producing nation, stands to both gain and lose from rising prices. While increased oil prices boost government revenue, they also raise costs across the economy, especially in energy and food production. Amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and their ripple effects on global energy markets, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the gantry price of petrol and diesel, further tightening pressure on consumers and businesses across Nigeria.
