The nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards has been announced, and top Nigerian artistes made the list.   Nigerian artistes, Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide have all been nominated for the 66th Grammy Awards. Burna Boy bagged a total of four nominations, while Davido earned three nominations for the 2024 event. Asake, Arya Starr and Olamide  The Nigerian singers were all nominated in the maiden Best African Music Performance category alongside South Africa’s Tyla. Asake and Olamide’s ‘Amapiano’, Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Davido and Musa Keys’ ‘Unavailable’, and Tyla’s ‘Water’ were the nominees in the newly created category. Burna Boy’s other nominations include; ‘Sitting On Top of the World’ featuring 21 Savage – Best Melodic Rap, ‘I Told Them’ – Best Global Music Album, and ‘Alone’ – Best Global Music Performance. Elton John told his millions of fans on Saturday night that they would remain in his "head, heart and soul", concluding his marathon farewell tour in Stockholm with one of his biggest hits - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. The 76-year-old singer has won five Grammy awards in a spectacular career spanning 50 years and nearly 4,600 performances worldwide. A disc jockey, Maestro DJ Brown, has said that he collaborated with Davido Music Worldwide-signed Peruzzi and another artiste, Bahdboyife, on his new song titled,  Ole , because of their vocal abilities. In an interview with  Sunday Scoop,  he said, “Working with Peruzzi on the song was a dream come true. His exceptional vocal abilities, talent and dedication to his craft elevated the song to a new level. I am sure it will be well received by music lovers. I also worked with Bahdboyife on the song, and his ingenuity and passion could be felt.” The singer stated that the song tells a compelling story of love and admiration, as the featured acts express their feelings towards their love interests, affectionately referring to them as ‘ole’ (thief in Yoruba language).” DJ Brown expressed optimism that the song would resonate with listeners on a deep emotional level. “The melody is irresistible,” he added.

Singer Yemi Alade clapped back at a fashion police who noticed a flaw in her outfit after she shared a photo on social media.    The award-winning singer had shared the photo above on her Twitter handle with the caption;  ‘’I'm Amazing, Extremely talented, kind and extraordinary .you would mistake me for an angel'' The fashion police did not hesitate to point out that her pop socks was torn.  Ms Alade spotted the comment, found it distasteful and gave a response. Nollywood actor, Brymo Uchegbu aka Don Brymo, has died.  The actor had been ill for a while and sadly passed away in his sleep today June 15. Actor Junior Pope confirmed his passing on Instagram.  May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

British actor, Ray Stevenson, best known for starring roles in “Punisher: War Zone” and the “Rome” television show, has died at the age of 58.   Stevenson died on Sunday May 21 , four days before his 59th birthday,  his publicist confirmed in a statement. A cause of death has not been given.   The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported he had been hospitalized on the island of Ischia while in production on the film Cassino on Ischia, directed by Frank Ciota.   The Peter Mayhew Foundation, set up by the actor who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, tweeted: “We are sad to hear of the passing of Ray Stevenson.   “You may recognize Ray as Baylon Skoll from the upcoming Ahsoka show on Disney+. You may also remember his work as the voice of mandalorian super commando Gar Saxon in The Clone Wars. Kanye West could potentially be barred from entering Australia due to anti-Semitic comments he has made.   The rapper, known as Ye, is reportedly planning a visit to Melbourne in the coming days to meet the family of his new wife, designer Bianca Censori.   Recall that Ye was widely criticised last year for praising Adolf Hitler during an interview with American far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.   Education Minister Jason Clare suggested his past comments could prevent Ye from gaining an Australian visa.   While Mr. Clare did not know if the rapper had applied for a visa, he said a quick Google search revealed he 'seems like he's a pretty big fan of a person who killed six million Jewish people last century'.   'People like that who've applied for visas to get into Australia in the past have been rejected,' he told Nine's Today on Wednesday January 25.   'I expect that if he does apply, he would have to go through the same process and

Authorities in the UK are investigating the death of a paedophile drag queen after he was found dead in the street in full stage costume.   Jeweller Darren Moore, 39, a convicted sex offender, had been reported missing after disappearing on a night out with friends.   Moore, known as Crystal Couture, was wearing a blonde wig, full make-up, false breasts, a yellow dress with frilly sleeves, and a matching handbag on the night he went missing.   Moore, who also performed under the name CC Quinn, was found dead in Cardiff city centre in the early hours yesterday, January 23.    Police said they were investigating a 'sudden and unexplained' death and asked for help from anyone with information.   The area was cordoned off on Tuesday and flowers were laid at the spot where Moore was found dead.   Members of the LGBT community in Cardiff are claiming on social media that he was the victim of a vicious hate crime but police have not given a cause of death.   Under his prev

UFC President Dana White has announced that Leon Edwards will defend his welterweight title against Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 in the O2 Arena in London on March 18. Edwards defeated Usman for the belt at UFC 278 last August after delivering a fifth-round head kick for a knockout, setting up their upcoming trilogy fight. The two first faced off at UFC on Fox: dos Anjos vs. Cowboy 2 in Dec. 2015. Usman won via unanimous decision. The UFC 286 co-main event will feature Justin Gaethje fighting Rafael Fiziev in a lightweight fight. This fight will be a homecoming for the 31-year-old Edwards, who moved to England at the age of nine and fights out of Birmingham. For his professional career, he sports a 20-3 record with one no-contest. He has seven knockouts and three submission victories. Usman had won 19 straight fights before falling to Edwards. For his career, he is 20-2 with nine knockouts and one submission.

Juice WRLD's ex-girlfriend Ally Lotti and her boyfriend Carter Jamison both pictured above, were arrested over the weekend for shoplifting at an Arkansas Walmart.   Cops told TMZ they found narcotics on Lotti during their search. She has now been booked on possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver at least 2 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of property. However countering the claim, Lotti's lawyer, Bradford Cohen claimed that his client and her boyfriend tried to scan their items in the self-checkout aisle on Saturday, January 14 and believed they'd rung up everything until a security guard detained them at the door. That was also when the drugs were discovered.   Carter was booked for theft of property and released without bond later that day. Nigerian singer, Brymo has again apologized over his 'bigoted' comments about the Igbo tribe, which has been condemned by many.    In a new tweet he shared, Brymo asked for forgiveness over his "bigoted spewings". Davido and his wife Chioma got new tattoos of each other's names.   The lovebirds were filmed getting the tattoos on their wedding band finger.   Chioma got a tattoo of "David" spelt out on her hand and Davido got one spelt "Chioma".   They also flaunted their wedding rings as they got the new ink.
