Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman trilogy fight set for March 18

UFC President Dana White has announced that Leon Edwards will defend his welterweight title against Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 in the O2 Arena in London on March 18.


Edwards defeated Usman for the belt at UFC 278 last August after delivering a fifth-round head kick for a knockout, setting up their upcoming trilogy fight.


The two first faced off at UFC on Fox: dos Anjos vs. Cowboy 2 in Dec. 2015. Usman won via unanimous decision.


The UFC 286 co-main event will feature Justin Gaethje fighting Rafael Fiziev in a lightweight fight.


This fight will be a homecoming for the 31-year-old Edwards, who moved to England at the age of nine and fights out of Birmingham. For his professional career, he sports a 20-3 record with one no-contest. He has seven knockouts and three submission victories.


Usman had won 19 straight fights before falling to Edwards. For his career, he is 20-2 with nine knockouts and one submission.

US government increases work and student visa fees by 15%

The United States government has announced a hike in fees for certain non-immigrant visa applications (NIV).   The 15 percent increment affects the student visa, exchange visitor visa, petition-based non-immigrant visas for temporary workers and treaty applicants.    The statement released on the bureau of consular affairs website, travel.state.gov, and on the websites of US embassies and consulates, reads;    “These increases were published in the federal register on March 28, 2023, and will be effective on May 30, 2023. The fee for visitor visas for business or tourism (B1/B2s and BCCs), and other non-petition based NIVs such as student and exchange visitor visas, will increase from $160 to $185.  “The fee for certain petition-based nonimmigrant visas for temporary workers (H, L, O, P, Q, and R categories) will increase from $190 to $205. UNN RELEASED HER 2019/2020 SUPPLEMENTARY ADMISSION LIST II AFTER JAMB 2020 EXAMINATION

INEC warns of fake online registration portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted Nigerians of the existence of a fake online site urging Nigerians to enroll for "voter card pvc" registration.   This comes barely 24 hours after INEC announced the suspension of voter registration across the country.   The fake online portal claimed that the Federal Government has approved PVC registration online to avoid the unnecessary crowd in the "NIMC".   INEC warned that the site is not linked to the Commission and the link/portal is spurious and from a dubious source.   The Commission said INEC is the only body constitutionally and legally mandated to conduct the registration of persons qualified to vote in any election in Nigeria and to update and revise the register when the need arises.   It reiterated that the Commission is solely responsible for organizing, undertaking, and supervising national elections in the country and does not share this responsibility with anybod...
