Fire guts fuel station along Abuja-Lokoja Expressway

A fuel station belonging to AA RANO, located along Abuja-Lokoja Expressway, has been gutted by fire.

 

Spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT police command, DSP Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the incident, said the fire broke out while a fuel tanker was dumping fuel at the station on Sunday, January 15, 2023. 

 

"A Fire incident has occurred at an AA RANO fuel station along Abuja-Lokoja Expressway. The fire broke out while a fuel tanker was dumping fuel at the station. Police operatives, firefighters and other emergency responders were on ground to put out the fire and ensure minimal damage for individuals and properties," the PPRO added.

Applicants will now get passports in two weeks - Minister of Interior

Nigeria's minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has stated that Nigerians would have to wait more than two weeks for an international passport anymore.   The minister, on September 7, gave the NIS a two-week deadline to remove all passport application backlogs. He added that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) had cleared all the 204,332 passport application backlogs. Speaking on Wednesday, October 4 in Abuja while updating Nigerians on the status of the passport backlog in the country,Tunji-Ojo said: “No one will ever wait for two weeks to get passports again. If you apply and have been captured, you will get your passport within two weeks.” He noted: “Immigration service did three shifts to make sure that we clear the backlogs and to ensure that never again in the history of Nigeria, are we going to have a backlog. Just In President Buhari Signs N8.91trn 2019 Budget Into Law

President Buhari has just signed the 2019 appropriation bill of N8.91 trillion into law.    The national assembly passed the budget into law after increasing the budget size from its initial N8.83 trillion.  President Buhari while signing the budget said he will work with the incoming 9th National Assembly to return to the January-December budget cycle.  He also said he will work with the 9th Assembly to have a more workable document that will facilitate the development of the nation as intended in the proposal submitted to the National Assembly.
