Fire guts fuel station along Abuja-Lokoja Expressway

A fuel station belonging to AA RANO, located along Abuja-Lokoja Expressway, has been gutted by fire.

 

Spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT police command, DSP Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the incident, said the fire broke out while a fuel tanker was dumping fuel at the station on Sunday, January 15, 2023. 

 

"A Fire incident has occurred at an AA RANO fuel station along Abuja-Lokoja Expressway. The fire broke out while a fuel tanker was dumping fuel at the station. Police operatives, firefighters and other emergency responders were on ground to put out the fire and ensure minimal damage for individuals and properties," the PPRO added.

Man Narrowly Escapes Death After House Ceiling Collapsed On Him.

A man is lucky to be alive after narrowly escaping death following a mishap which occurred on Wednesday, September 12th in Imo state. According to Stephen Chidiebere Anoro from Owerri, Imo state, a portion of the house (the ceiling) fell on his brother while he was in the room but he narrowly escaped the tragedy and came out alive. An excited Stephen took to Facebook to share a footage showing aftermath of the incident as he wrote;  Friend and friends make una follow me thank God for savings the life of my brother yesterday being 12th September 2018.. Last year, four occupants of a two storey building on Fire Service/Mbaise Road died after the building collapsed at the early hour on Sunday. Five other occupants of the building were, however, rescued but they sustained various degrees of injuries.

Governor Ortom vows not to run from EFCC

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has vowed not to run from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) when called upon to give an account of how he spent his state's money.    Ortom who made the vow at his cabinet's valedictory session held at the old banquet hall of Government House, Makurdi, stated that he is not a coward. Senate panel to present report on Buhari’s impeachment today

The Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters is expected to present its report on President Muhammadu Buhari’s impeachment on Wednesday. The committee is looking into the approval of the payment of $496m out of the Excess Crude Account for the purchase of military aircraft. The 12 Super Tucano aircraft ordered from the United States will be delivered in 2020. The Senate had on Thursday resolved to refer the matter to the committee for legal advice, when lawmakers became divided on it. The panel was given the mandate to see whether the President violated the constitution or not. Most of the lawmakers who spoke on the withdrawal pointed out that the President had breached Section 80 of the 1999 Constitution, while a few disagreed.
