Veteran actress Ireti Doyle confirms separation from Patrick Doyle, explains why she still bears Doyle despite the divorce

Nollywood actress, Ireti Doyle has confirmed her divorce from veteran broadcaster and actor, Patrick Doyle.

 

Ireti and Patrick went their separate ways after over 19 years of marriage. In a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, the actress said she is no longer married to Mr Doyle.

 

“We are officially divorced” she confirmed

 

The 55-year-old went on to say that she had no business being married at that time.

 

“When you’re an adult, it’s not a life and death situation…there are some situations that are way beyond your control. The truth of the matter is that I had no business being married at that time, period! let’s not even go to the choice of who I married. I can’t sacrifice my life in the alter of your imagination or your fantasy.'' she said

 

Ireti shared a clip of the interview on her Instagram page with the caption;

“There is a time to be silent and a time to speak. In this age where everything one says is scrutinised and quartered; it takes a certain level of trust to bare intimate details .. we are here now.” 

 

Furthermore, in a Twitter exchange with some of her followers this morning, Ireti explained why she still bears Doyle despite the divorce. See below.

The Delta State Government has shut down a primary school in Asaba following the death of a 19-month-old pupil, Obina Udeze.   Baby Obinna died from injuries sustained after his teacher, Emeka Nwogbo, allegedly flogged him last Monday February 7, leaving marks on his body. Ray Stevenson, actor in 'Thor,' 'RRR' and 'Ahsoka,' dies at 58

British actor, Ray Stevenson, best known for starring roles in “Punisher: War Zone” and the “Rome” television show, has died at the age of 58.   Stevenson died on Sunday May 21 , four days before his 59th birthday,  his publicist confirmed in a statement. A cause of death has not been given.   The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported he had been hospitalized on the island of Ischia while in production on the film Cassino on Ischia, directed by Frank Ciota.   The Peter Mayhew Foundation, set up by the actor who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, tweeted: “We are sad to hear of the passing of Ray Stevenson.   “You may recognize Ray as Baylon Skoll from the upcoming Ahsoka show on Disney+. Nurse arraigned in court for using name of ICU patient to steal drugs worth Ksh81K (N295k)

Joseph Onyango Joel Migundo, a 53-year-old nurse at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has been arraigned in court after being caught using the name of a patient in coma to steal medicine at the hospital for three months. Migundo who was arraigned before Milimani Law Courts, was accused of committing the crime on diverse dates between October 2, 2021, and December 9, 2021, at the hospital. The nurse allegedly stole 12 bottles of Human Albumin Solution all valued at Ksh 81,600 (N295k). He is also facing an alternative charge of handling stolen property, after being found in possession of four bottles of the said drugs on December 9, 2021, during an ambush that was carried out by the hospital’s staff.
