Betty White’s cause of death has been confirmed.

 White’s death certificate lists a cerebrovascular accident as her immediate cause of death.

 A cerebrovascular accident, which is a medical term for a stroke, occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. When the blood supply is stopped, the brain cells begin to die and the brain loses function.

 According to the death certificate, “The Golden Girls” star suffered a stroke six days before her death on Dec. 31 at age 99.

 White’s agent and close friend Jeff Witjas said in a statement given to NBC News: “I was told that Betty passed in her sleep peacefully without pain. To me, this is the most important thing and brings me comfort as her friend. Anything else is private to Betty.”

Angry Youths burn police officer’s residence in Edo

Some youths in Evbuomama community in Ikpoba-Okah Local Government Area of Edo have set ablaze the residence of a police officer following the death of one, Glory Imarogie. The  News Agency of Nigeria  reports that the deceased was said to have died in a hospital after he was allegedly tortured at the Edo Police headquarters. He was said to have been arrested after he had an altercation with his landlord, a serving police officer, SP Austin Ehiziegbe. His landlord was said to have been annoyed because late Glory’s niece celebrated her birthday at his residence without his permission. Family demands justice as power-drunk vigilantes shoot Abuja orphans

The family of two brothers, Abdulmalik Abubakar and Ibrahim Abdullahi, have demanded justice after members of a vigilance group shot them in the Bobota/Dabi Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. PUNCH Metro  gathered that the brothers were sleeping in their room on Sunday, July 9 when members of the vigilance group invaded the premises and suddenly started shooting. It was learnt that one of the bullets hit the two brothers in the leg and buttocks and in a bid to rescue them, the duo were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Everton have sacked manager Rafael Benitez after just six-and-a-half months in charge following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Norwich.  The Toffees have won just once in the Premier League since September and are 15th in the table, six points above the relegation zone and on January 15 lost to lowly ranked Norwich.  Benitez, a former manager of Liverpool (Everton's city rivals) was appointed Everton boss last summer but the Spaniard has failed to win over the Goodison Park faithful with his style of football or results.
