Anglican Bishop charged with attempting to kiss woman and touch her breasts

Joel Waweru, a Bishop of  Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) has been charged with allegedly trying to touch and kiss a woman forcefully, without her consent.

 Waweru who was arraigned before Kibra Law Court on Tuesday January 11, denied the two criminal counts that are related to sexual assault.

 A charge sheet seen by K24 Digital revealed that the cleric allegedly committed the offence on different dates in Lang’ata Sub-County within Nairobi County. The woman told the police that the Bishop had on several occasions said that he liked her because she was beautiful.

 The woman further alleged that the Bishop was obsessed with her even though she is married. She added that the obsession pushed her into filing a complaint as she became excessively insecure and frustrated.

 Waweru during his appearance in court, pleaded not guilty to the allegations and asked for lenient bond terms.  The magistrate released him on a ksh50,000 cash bail. “He will be released on a ksh50,000 cash bail and the matter will be brought here after a fortnight,” Derrick Kuto ruled.

 Bishop Waweru was also charged with the second count of touching the breast of J.N.M in an indecent manner on July 13, 2021.

Nollywood veteran actor, Mr Ibu, finally goes home.

After a long battle with blood clotting on his leg, veteran actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu has died. The actor passed away in a hospital in Lagos state on Saturday, March 2.  According to family sources, the actor has been on life support after he underwent a second surgery for his ailment recently. The family source said that his blood pressure has been over 200 after he had the surgery and that efforts were being made to stabilize it before he sadly passed away this evening.  The actor battled with constant clotting of blood on his leg (diseased blood vessels) and other health challenges for years. In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment. There were plans to fly him abroad for further medical care but that plan was aborted by his doctors who believed he wasn't fit to fly. During the cause of his treatment, his leg was amputated in November 2023. The actor is survived by his wife and children. He was 62 years old. ...

Breaking News: Just in, Air strike kills at least 22 in Khartoum, Sudan

A Sudanese army air strike on the capital has killed at least 22 people and injured many others, eyewitnesses and an official have said. Women and children were among the victims, the eyewitnesses told the BBC. The airstrike hit the Dar es Salaam district of Omdurman, on the opposite bank of the Nile to the capital Khartoum, early on Saturday. The army and a paramilitary force have been battling for control of the capital since April. The conflict began after the head of the army, Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the head of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Gen Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, fell out over the future of the country. A Khartoum state health official, quoted by Reuters news agency, said at least 22 people had been killed in Saturday's airstrike, while the RSF said the death toll was 31. Knuckleballer and 2x World Series champion, Tim Wakefield is dead. The former Boston Red Sox star passed on at the age of 57, days after former teammate Curt Schilling revealed that the longtime starting pitcher was battling brain cancer. Ex-Boston Red Sox knuckleballer, Tim Wakefield is dead Announcing his death, the Boston Red Sox said in a statement;  "Our hearts are broken with the loss of Tim Wakefield. Tinubu asks US Court to limit release of his University Records to Diploma Certificate

Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu, has objected to the release of his Chicago State University (CSU) records to the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.   Tinubu pleaded on Monday, September 25, that if the court was inclined to grant Atiku’s application for discovery, it should be limited to only his diploma certificate he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in aid of his qualification for the 2023 presidential election.
