This is to inform the general public that the list of shortlisted candidates for 80RRI has been released and screening will commence on 2 Dec 20.

Children as young as four have been pictured receiving military training at an intensive volunteer boot camp as Ukraine’s military intensifies its defensive efforts in anticipation of a Russian military invasion. The volunteer boot camp in snow-covered woods outside the capital, Kiev saw young and old people taught the rudiments of military skills. A child named Taras and his brother Bohdan, both aged four, held wooden assault rifles while men and women in the background trained against Russia. The Federal Government has cautioned opposition politicians against making claims it says could damage Nigeria’s reputation internationally amid criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s absence from the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris issued the warning in a statement addressing public debate over Tinubu’s decision to delegate Vice President Kashim Shettima to lead Nigeria’s delegation. Idris said Tinubu is currently on annual leave and maintained that his decision to send Shettima to the UN gathering should not be interpreted as diminishing Nigeria’s diplomatic standing. “President Tinubu is currently on annual leave, and his decision to ask the Vice President to lead Nigeria’s delegation is neither unusual nor a diminution of the country’s diplomatic standing,” Idris said. IBEDC to upgrade metering system

The Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has announced an upcoming upgrade for its Standard Transfer Specification prepaid meters to enhance efficiency and align with global standards. The upgrade, known as Token Identification Rollover, aims to ensure the continued seamless operation of prepaid meters while maintaining customer satisfaction.  A statement signed by the Managing Director of IBEDC, Kingsley Achife, said the upgrade scheduled to take effect from August 1, 2023, would involve the integration of a global software update into STS meters, making them compatible with the new TID Rollover protocol. “This upgrade is imperative as starting from November 24, 2024; all STS meters worldwide will cease to accept old credit tokens without the necessary meter upgrade. To facilitate a smooth transition, IBEDC will provide its prepaid meter customers with Key Change Tokens alongside their regular energy tokens when purchasing electricity,” Achife said. He...
