GSP 208 and GSP 106 MOP UP Examination… UNN

This in to inform the lions and lioness that there will be a mop up exam for GSP 208 and GSP 106 on Wednesday, August 29th,2018. All students who missed these exams should come and register for it at the Secretary to  Deans office at School of General Studies University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Strictly for those who missed the exams.

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen attacked a Benue Links bus conveying passengers to Otukpo en-route Naka road in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state at Tyolaha village.    The assailants, said to be heavily armed attacked the vehicle on Thursday, October 12, 2023, killing one passenger.    Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said three people including women were injured and one person died.    Gwer West State Assembly Member, Hon. Senate panel to present report on Buhari’s impeachment today

The Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters is expected to present its report on President Muhammadu Buhari’s impeachment on Wednesday. The committee is looking into the approval of the payment of $496m out of the Excess Crude Account for the purchase of military aircraft. The 12 Super Tucano aircraft ordered from the United States will be delivered in 2020. The Senate had on Thursday resolved to refer the matter to the committee for legal advice, when lawmakers became divided on it. The panel was given the mandate to see whether the President violated the constitution or not. Most of the lawmakers who spoke on the withdrawal pointed out that the President had breached Section 80 of the 1999 Constitution, while a few disagreed. Senator Mathew Uroghide, who is the Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts, had specifically urged the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, to allow the chamber to invoke Section 143 of the 1999 Constitution agains...

Man Narrowly Escapes Death After House Ceiling Collapsed On Him.

A man is lucky to be alive after narrowly escaping death following a mishap which occurred on Wednesday, September 12th in Imo state. According to Stephen Chidiebere Anoro from Owerri, Imo state, a portion of the house (the ceiling) fell on his brother while he was in the room but he narrowly escaped the tragedy and came out alive. An excited Stephen took to Facebook to share a footage showing aftermath of the incident as he wrote;  Friend and friends make una follow me thank God for savings the life of my brother yesterday being 12th September 2018.. Last year, four occupants of a two storey building on Fire Service/Mbaise Road died after the building collapsed at the early hour on Sunday. Five other occupants of the building were, however, rescued but they sustained various degrees of injuries.

Governor Ortom vows not to run from EFCC

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has vowed not to run from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) when called upon to give an account of how he spent his state's money.    Ortom who made the vow at his cabinet's valedictory session held at the old banquet hall of Government House, Makurdi, stated that he is not a coward. He urged his council members not to entertain any fear whenever the EFCC invites them for questioning.   He said;    “Anytime you are invited by EFCC, don’t be afraid to go, as for me I’m not a coward to run away from EFCC, if they come for me I will follow them. “I don’t have any investment in Europe all I have are in this state.
