Tribunal dismisses NYSC certificate forgery allegation against Mbah

The Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has dismissed the petition of Chris Agu of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) against Peter Mbah for alleged forged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate, non-qualification, and corruption.

 

The PRP had claimed that Mbah entered a plea bargain with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the past.

 

In a judgment delivered today September 21, the Tribunal chaired by Justice Kudirat Murayo Akano held that the petitioner failed to prove that the respondent did not possess the minimum requirement to stand for election which is a school certificate or its equivalent. According to him, there’s no evidence to support the claim that Mbah is not qualified to stand for the election.

 

On the issue of the plea bargain by Mbah, the tribunal averred that the exhibits presented by the petitioners did not show any plea bargain by the respondent. The tribunal also held that to prove the issue of forgery, the petitioner must provide the original certificate and the forged one.

 

The tribunal in its ruling also dismissed claims that Mbah was not elected.

 

The panel averred that witnesses called by the petitioners could not specify the polling units where the elections were not held nor the results of the same.

Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has disclosed that he has two sons from different mothers.  During an interview with Jahbless Original Intelligence, Portable spoke about his private life. He said he has many girlfriends professing love for him because of his new-found fame.  He added that he has a girlfriend he really loves and wants to marry but she is now "misbehaving" because of his new "glory".  Speaking about kids, he said he has two sons from two different women. He said: "I have two boys, strong mafians."  When asked about the mother of the children, he revealed that his sons are from different mothers.  He, however, declined to answer when he asked about their whereabouts.  He also spoke about how much he suffered before his rise to stardom.

Nollywood veteran actor, Mr Ibu, finally goes home.

After a long battle with blood clotting on his leg, veteran actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu has died. The actor passed away in a hospital in Lagos state on Saturday, March 2.  According to family sources, the actor has been on life support after he underwent a second surgery for his ailment recently. The family source said that his blood pressure has been over 200 after he had the surgery and that efforts were being made to stabilize it before he sadly passed away this evening.  The actor battled with constant clotting of blood on his leg (diseased blood vessels) and other health challenges for years. In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment. There were plans to fly him abroad for further medical care but that plan was aborted by his doctors who believed he wasn't fit to fly.
