The investigation into the alleged job racketeering at the Federal Character Commission has taken a different twist as one Haruna Kolo, a former Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) desk officer at the commission has admitted collecting N75 million from some persons on the instruction of the chairman, Farida Dankaka.   Kolo alleged that the FCC chairperson instructed him to send the money to his personal bank account and pay to her in cash, which he did at several meetings in her house.   Kolo said he resigned from FCC on November 2, 2022, to begin a new job at the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria AMCON, but still received salary from FCC on two occasion. Ex-Boston Red Sox knuckleballer, Tim Wakefield is dead

Knuckleballer and 2x World Series champion, Tim Wakefield is dead. The former Boston Red Sox star passed on at the age of 57, days after former teammate Curt Schilling revealed that the longtime starting pitcher was battling brain cancer. Ex-Boston Red Sox knuckleballer, Tim Wakefield is dead Announcing his death, the Boston Red Sox said in a statement;  "Our hearts are broken with the loss of Tim Wakefield. Wake embodied true goodness; a devoted husband, father, and teammate, beloved broadcaster, and the ultimate community leader. He gave so much to the game and all of Red Sox Nation. “Our deepest love and thoughts are with Stacy, Trevor, Brianna, and the Wakefield family.” Wakefield won 200 games and retired with a 4.41 ERA. Tim struck out over 2,100 batters and earned a trip to the All-Star Game in 2009. He won two World Series in 2004 and 2007. Wakefield retired in 2011 and was later inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kwara State, Garba Madami on Monday said he resisted money offered by politicians to compromise the just concluded 2019 general elections in the state. Madami disclosed this while speaking with newsmen after his daughter’s wedding in Minna.  There was pressure by politicians who offered me money to compromise the 2019 general elections in Kwara state but I stood my ground and refused to give in. “The nature of our job at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is too tempting. “It is left between you and God to do the right thing and keep your integrity or compromise and lose your integrity. You may even go to jail,” he said. First image of girl, 9, stabbed as she played in street with sister

The first picture of nine-year-old Lilia Valutyte who was stabbed to death in front of her younger sister has been released, as police launch a murder probe.   Lilia was reportedly playing in the street with a toy pram near the town centre of Boston, Lincolnshire, England, with her younger sister when the attack took place.   Police arrested two men in connection with the little girl’s murder on Thursday night, July 28, the Telegraph reported.   An unnamed neighbour described the girl's last moment, saying: "The little girl was playing in the street with her younger sister when it happened. They had some toys out.   "I'm sure her mum wouldn't have been far away as she always checked on them. She was a very quiet girl, and I just can't understand it."   Her toy pram was left lying on the road as paramedics battled to save her life inside an ambulance, according to a witness.   Another local said: "This shouldn't have happened....
