The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday approved for the commencement of a suit seeking an order of mandamus to compel the police and the Department of State Services to prosecute certain individuals for allegedly aiding the escape of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu,  from Nigeria and putting pressure on the military to produce him.     Justice John Tsoho , in a ruling on an ex parte application, granted leave to the plaintiff,  Isiah Ayugu , to commence the suit, which he filed on October 31, 2018 Ayugu had described himself as a tax-paying, responsible Nigerian and lawyer. The judge, who fixed November 22 for the hearing of the suit, ordered the suit to be served on the defendants the DSS, its director-general, the police and the Inspector-General of Police.   The suit is seeking the arrest and prosecution of a former Minister of Aviation,  Femi Fani-Kayode  and those who stood sureties for the bail granted Kanu by the court in April 2017.

The Abuja police command have arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly disguising as a woman to lure men at nightclubs in Abuja. The suspect,  Iliyasu Omika , a native of Kogi State who stays in Tungan Maje in Abuja, was among 15 suspects paraded by the FCT Police Command on Wednesday for allegedly luring men at nightclubs into amorous relationships while disguised as a lady. Police said he was arrested at a brothel in Mpape on November 5 around 5am “after his supposed client raised alarm upon discovery that he was actually a man and not a woman as he claimed.” When speaking with journalists, Omika denied the allegations but admitted that he met the man in a bar while he was with his sisters. A masters degree holder, Aminu Ahmed Yerima has been arrested for defrauding over 50 persons on Facebook, pretending to be an aide to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. Yerima fleeced his victims of large sums of money, running into millions of naira. He, however, ran into trouble when two of his female victims petitioned the I.G of Police, Ibrahim Idris, about how he defrauded them of the sum of N5million in 6 months. The suspect created a Facebook account using pictures of himself and Atiku, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and several other locations. He also identified himself on his facebook wall as the personal aide to the former vice president. He made his victims to believe that Atiku usually gave out financial assistance and contracts to people who were in need and he assured them that he could always help to facilitate it. Earlier today, Ikorodu road in Lagos was temporarily closed as a tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit fell and spilled its content on the road.   The tanker, which fell at Kosofe area of Ketu caused a gridlock as Lagosians coming from Ikorodu were stuck on the road.  Lagos State Fire Service announced the temporary closure of the road while advising road-users to make use of alternative routes.   “If you're coming in from Ikorodu towards mile 12, Kosofe, Ketu. Road is temporarily shut down. Loaded Fuel Tanker fell,” a tweet on the LASG Fire Service handle read. The Fire Service noted that emergency units are on ground and working to avert a fire incident.out

A man is lucky to be alive after narrowly escaping death following a mishap which occurred on Wednesday, September 12th in Imo state. According to Stephen Chidiebere Anoro from Owerri, Imo state, a portion of the house (the ceiling) fell on his brother while he was in the room but he narrowly escaped the tragedy and came out alive. Last year, four occupants of a two storey building on Fire Service/Mbaise Road died after the building collapsed at the early hour on Sunday.   A Catholic priest, Rev Fr. Jude Egbuom, was murdered by gunmen in Nkwerre in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday night. The attackers were reported to have made away with his vehicle. The gunmen equally murdered a young man whose identity could not be ascertained immediately. The man was said to be with the priest in his vehicle when the criminals struck. He was attacked around 8pm when he went to a barber’s shop on Anara-Nkwerre Road in Nkwerre town. He reportedly resisted giving the car keys to his killers, which angered them. The cleric was immediately shot together with the other victim in his vehicle ,while the criminals fled. The priest until his death in charge of St Patrick’s Catholic Parish, Amucha, in the Njaba LGA of the state.

The Southern Cameroons Restoration Forces have cut off Bamenda from West region in an attempt to stop any reinforcements of military operations coming from La Republique du Cameroun.
