Angered by the mutiny by officers and men of Nigerian Army at Maiduguri Airport two weeks ago, the military high command has arrested and detained a captain and no fewer than 70 others for the embarrassing action, which is against military rules of engagement.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed his readiness to return to the classroom if offered such opportunity, especially at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt. 30-Year-Old Man Arrested For Defiling 13-Old-Girl In Ogun

The police in Ogun state have arrested a 30-year -old man identified as Adewale Olakusi for allegedly defiling a 13-year old girl (name withheld) in Ota area of Ado-Odo/Ota local government. In a statement released by the state police command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Adewale was arrested on Saturday September 1st following a complaint by the father of the victim. ”The father reported at Onipanu Division that he discovered a sudden and unusual demeanor on his daughter as well as loss of appetite for food. Upon the report, the DPO Onipanu Division SP Sangobiyi Johnson detailed detectives to effect the arrest of the suspect who happened to be living in the same house with the Parents of the victim. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime but blamed it on the devil handiwork. Young Girl Committed Suicide Because Of missing 1000 Naira Note.

Residents of Shagamu local government area Ogun state was shock at the early hour when a young girl of age 17 years was seen with a rope on her neck suspended on an uncompleted building dead. The girl who is said to be in SS2 and a student of Remo Divisional High School wrote a note.  She said it's because of my Aunty 1000 Naira Note that I couldn't find please forgive me.  Investigations is still going on to know if there is another story behind that.

Applicant Dies Inside Ikoyi Passport Office Toilet

An applicant seeking Nigerian international passport has died in Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Passport office, Ikoyi, Lagos. The applicant was said to have arrived the passport office at about 7.am in company of his wife and they were asked to wait till 9.am when they would be attended to. It was gathered that at about I0.am, the man became restless and started complaining of severe heat and discomfort. He, however, requested to use the rest room. However, trouble started when he didn’t come out of the toilet after about half an hour and his his wife became very worried. It was learned that after about 40 minutes, attendant from the agency knocked several times and he did not respond. ”We tried to open the door, but it was locked from the inside,” the attendant said. No faction in Cross River APC, but interest groups, says Duke

  Chief Edem Duke, former Minister of Culture and Tourism, says disharmony in the state APC is about interests. Duke said this on Sunday when he commissioned a new Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC). “There is no faction in Cross River APC; it is interest by various stakeholders in the party in the state. “However, this is good for democracy but we need to come together; reason together; and chart a new course for our great party, ‘’ he said. Gunmen kill director of Dangote Cement plant in Ethiopia

Unidentified gunmen have killed the manager of a plant owned by Nigeria’s Dangote Industries Limited in Ethiopia on Wednesday after he was attacked in the restive Oromiya region while returning to the capital from the factory, officials said.  Oromiya, which surrounds the capital Addis Ababa, was plagued by violence for over two years, largely fueled by a sense of political and economic marginalisation among its young population. Hundreds died in the violence that was triggered in 2015 by demonstrations over land rights, before they broadened into rallies over freedoms that spread to other regions. “The company’s director died following an attack by unknown gunmen that took place while returning from the factory alongside two company employees,” a government statement said. “Security forces are currently pursuing the assailants,” it added.
