A heartwarming video showing the moment a Nigerian mum reunited with her mentally challenged son, Bamidele, who went missing four years ago, has been shared online. Bamidele who was a four hundred level student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University was found wandering on the streets by an NGO, South-Westshire Health Trust, who took him into their facility and has been taking care of him. Recently, Bamidele could remember a bit about his family and his mum was successfully traced. Two days ago, she visited the NGO where she reunited with her son. The mum couldn't hold back tears as she hugged her son and asked repeatedly if he could remember her.
Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen attacked a Benue Links bus conveying passengers to Otukpo en-route Naka road in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state at Tyolaha village. The assailants, said to be heavily armed attacked the vehicle on Thursday, October 12, 2023, killing one passenger. Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said three people including women were injured and one person died. Gwer West State Assembly Member, Hon. Officers of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected car snatchers along Egbeda Road at about 1:30am on Sunday, July 24, shortly after they snatched a Toyota Corolla 2000 model with registration number LND-664-GF. The suspects identified as Abiodun Nurudeen, 36, and Anthony Richard, 45, both recently released on May 05, 2022 and June 04, 2022 respectively from Ikoyi Correctional facility, were arrested following a tip-off from civic-minded members of the public. Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was snatched around Lekki, Lagos State. Confirming their arrest to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said while investigation is ongoing, the owner of the vehicle needs to come forward with proof of ownership to claim the vehicle. He added that the suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.
The Southern Cameroons Restoration Forces have cut off Bamenda from West region in an attempt to stop any reinforcements of military operations coming from La Republique du Cameroun. In a preemptive move, the dug a very big hole on the road that led to commuters stranded on either side of the two Cameroons.
