ECOWAS orders immediate deployment of standby military force in Niger to dislodge junta

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, has ordered its standby force to restore constitutional order in NIger Republic.


The President of the ECOWAS Commission, Omar Alieu Touray made the declaration while reading the resolution of ECOWAS on the Niger coup at the ECOWAS Extraordinary meeting in Abuja on Thursday, August 10.


ECOWAS also called on the African Union, AU, partner countries, and institutions to support the resolution taken by the sub-regional body.


ECOWAS said all efforts made to dialogue with Niger Republic military junta have been defiantly rejected by the coup leaders as they condemn the continuous detention of President Mohamed Bazoum and his family members.


The resolution partly reads, “Direct the committee of the Chief of Defence Staff to activate the ECOWAS standby force with all its elements immediately.


“Order the deployment of the ECOWAS stand-by force to restore constitutional order in the Republic of Niger.


“Underscore its continued commitment to the restoration of constitutional order through peaceful means.”

Kanye West has accused Kim Kardashian of keeping their children from him and he also spoke about how his mother kept him away from his father.   The rapper took to Instagram to reveal that he wants to take his kids to his hometown, Chicago, but Kim is stopping that from happening. He also wrote in an earlier post that when he was a child, his mother took him to Chicago and prevented his father from seeing him. JAMB Releases Results Statistics For 2018 UTME. JAMB has now sent in the Official Result Statistics for the 2018 UTME conducted between 9th – 17th March, 2018. This statistics includes the total number of results to be released, and the number of results being withheld for  further investigations. JAMB claims to have viewed all CCTV footage in all centres nationwide.  They combined all the information from the CCTV footage, with reports from  supervisors, monitors and other independent Nigerians, to come up with the  following statistics; Total Number of 2018 UTME Candidates: 1,652,825 Number of Released Results: 1,502,978 Number of With-held Results: 112,331 Number of Results for Blind Candidates (Still With-held): 350 According to the JAMB Spokesman, Mr. Fabian Benjamin, the above numbers exclude the results for Foreign  Candidates, who are expected to write their own exams in April.

Governor Ortom vows not to run from EFCC

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has vowed not to run from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) when called upon to give an account of how he spent his state's money.    Ortom who made the vow at his cabinet's valedictory session held at the old banquet hall of Government House, Makurdi, stated that he is not a coward.
