Pastor E.A Adeboye: Biography, Age, Family, History of RCCG and More

A lot has been said about the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, but who really is he. Today, we will be looking into him as he has impacted so many people all around the world.

WHO REALLY IS PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE?

ACTUAL NAME:  His full and actual name is Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

AGE AND DATE OF BIRTH: He is currently 76 years old born precisely on the 2nd of March, 1942 at Ifewara, in Osun State, Nigeria.

STATE OF ORIGIN: He is from Ifewara, Osun State, Nigeria. The same place he was born.

FAMILY: He is married to Pastor Foluke Adenike Adeboye, they have been married for about 51 years now (got married in the year 1967), and they are blessed with four (4) children; Bolu, Dare, Leke, and Adeolu. All his children are pastors in the Redeemed Christian church.

PASTOR ADEOLU ADEBOYE (FIRST CHILD)
He is the eldest among the children of the general overseer of RCCG worldwide, he makes sure the standards and regulation of the church are met and the operations are put into place. He is the leader of the traffic control and security (Team Nehemiah) of the church and he makes sure both the members and visitors have an awesome time in their worship in the church.

PASTOR BOLU ADUBI
Although she is not based in Nigeria, yet she still keeps the work of God rolling in the country where she is based which is U.S.A (Maryland). She is the founder of her own ministry, The Royal Priesthood Ministry, the goal of which is to help both pastors and ministers children express themselves freely in the house of God. She is also blessed with four children and married to a pastor (Pastor Akin Adubi).

PASTOR DARE ADEBOYE
If you mention the ten influential pastors in the Redeemed Christian church of God, he is part of them. He is the pastor in charge of overseeing all the youth in major states in Nigeria, he had also held the position of the Senior pastor of House of praise RCCG located in Birmingham. His main focus is on the youths in the church and he is really doing a great Job in that.

PASTOR LEKE ADEBOYE
Leke is one of the sons people know the most, Just today he went online to say he is a fela music fan..lol, but out of all the children of Pastor E.A Adeboye, Leke is the youngest of them all, he is also very passionate when it comes to training young adults and youths in the church.
Before he became a full time pastor in the church, he held a degree in aerospace Engineering and also a masters degree in Project management. He was also a staff at Accenture, and also a renowned entrepreneur.

EDUCATION: he had always been a smart person from the onset, when he was 18 years of age, just a little while after he lost his father (during his final secondary school year), he won the prize as the best student of the school, he didn’t have shoes then and pant to wear for his graduation to claim his prize, so he had to borrow them from his relatives. He was a student of Mathematics at the great Nigerian University (NNSUKA) but couldn’t finish his education there due to the civil war that started, so he moved to university of Ife (currently known as Obafemi Awolowo University) where he got his bachelors degree in mathematics, he also had his masters degree in Hydrodynamics at UNILAG and his PHD in Applied mathematics also in UNILAG in the year 1975.

HISTORY OF THE CHURCH
Pastor E.A Adeboye, did not start in the church as the General Overseer overnight, he was once the translator of the original founder of the church Reverend J.O Akindayomi. Let us look at a brief history of RCCG.
It started as a 12 man group in the year 1952 known as the ‘OGO OLUWA FELLOWSHIP’ by Pa J.O Akindayomi (the J.O stands for Josiah Olufemi), the major aim of the group then was for intensive bible study, righteousness  and prayers.
After some time, the fellowship began to grow and then the emergence of a church, them several attempts to find a name to the church started, but none stuck, so the founder started praying and fasting and God revealed to him the name of the church in a vision. Though he was not literate, but     was able to write the name of the church he saw in the vision on a blackboard, hence the name today. God also revealed to him the mission and visions of the church.
 On the 2nd of November, 1980, Reverend Josiah Akindayomi went to be with the Lord, but before he left, placed it on Pastor E.A Adeboye to continue the journey. In 1981, February to be précised, pastor EA Adeboye became the General overseer of RCCG
Now, due to the new policy of the 20 years tenure of religious leaders in Nigeria, the power of General overseer in Nigeria was transferred to Pastor JO Obayemi but Pastor EA Adeboye still remains the General Overseer of RCCG worldwide

Ray Stevenson, actor in 'Thor,' 'RRR' and 'Ahsoka,' dies at 58

British actor, Ray Stevenson, best known for starring roles in “Punisher: War Zone” and the “Rome” television show, has died at the age of 58.   Stevenson died on Sunday May 21 , four days before his 59th birthday,  his publicist confirmed in a statement. A cause of death has not been given.   The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported he had been hospitalized on the island of Ischia while in production on the film Cassino on Ischia, directed by Frank Ciota.   The Peter Mayhew Foundation, set up by the actor who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, tweeted: “We are sad to hear of the passing of Ray Stevenson.   “You may recognize Ray as Baylon Skoll from the upcoming Ahsoka show on Disney+. You may also remember his work as the voice of mandalorian super commando Gar Saxon in The Clone Wars. Police arrest suspected kidnappers of Alao-Ala's farm supervisor and others

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested suspected 17 kidnappers for their involvement in some recent abductions in the state.    Spokesperson of the command, Adewale Osifeso, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, July 29, said eight suspects were arrested in connection with the  abduction  of Christopher Bakare, the supervisor of a farm belonging to the late former governor of the state, Adebayo Alao-Akala.    Bakare was abducted on the farm in Jabata located in the Surulere Local Government Area of the state.    Some of the eight suspects were also said to have kidnapped the owner of a private clinic, Dr Abdurasheed Oladoye at Gbede in the same local government area. The police noted that some items including a gun and expended cartridge as well as some cash were recovered from them. Tragedy As Truck Crashes Into A School Bus In Enugu Leaving Scores Of Pupils Dead.

An unconfirmed number students have been confirmed dead in a road accident that happened on Wednesday evening, at Mmaku Hill, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State. The tragic incident happened at Nkwo junction around 4:30pm when driver of Presentation Nursery and Primary school bus was conveying each students to their various destinations. It was gathered that the accident occurred after the brake of a company truck failed and rammed into a student filled school bus. A source, Spartan Arinze, told our correspondent that the students who are mostly the victims including some staff died immediately after the accident. The tragic accident also claimed the lives of a roadside tyre repairer, cyclist and mechanic, the source said.
