Police arrest two robbers who raped pregnant woman in Rivers


The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two armed robbery suspects who allegedly raped a pregnant woman during one of their operations.

 

Spokesperson of the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, August 1, 2022.

 

The PPRO said the two suspects, Saviour Gbarale, 24, and Onyedikachi Uhala, 18, of Etche Street in Borikiri, Port Harcourt, were arrested by operatives of the C4i Intelligence Unit of the command.

 

"The suspects specialise in house breaking and have been linked to series of recent armed robberies in the Port Harcourt metropolis and its environs. Investigations also revealed that the suspects raped and sexually abused a pregnant woman in the cause of their nefarious operations." she stated.

The Delta State Government has shut down a primary school in Asaba following the death of a 19-month-old pupil, Obina Udeze.   Baby Obinna died from injuries sustained after his teacher, Emeka Nwogbo, allegedly flogged him last Monday February 7, leaving marks on his body. Ray Stevenson, actor in 'Thor,' 'RRR' and 'Ahsoka,' dies at 58

British actor, Ray Stevenson, best known for starring roles in “Punisher: War Zone” and the “Rome” television show, has died at the age of 58.   Stevenson died on Sunday May 21 , four days before his 59th birthday,  his publicist confirmed in a statement. A cause of death has not been given.   The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported he had been hospitalized on the island of Ischia while in production on the film Cassino on Ischia, directed by Frank Ciota.   The Peter Mayhew Foundation, set up by the actor who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, tweeted: “We are sad to hear of the passing of Ray Stevenson.   “You may recognize Ray as Baylon Skoll from the upcoming Ahsoka show on Disney+. Nurse arraigned in court for using name of ICU patient to steal drugs worth Ksh81K (N295k)

Joseph Onyango Joel Migundo, a 53-year-old nurse at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has been arraigned in court after being caught using the name of a patient in coma to steal medicine at the hospital for three months. Migundo who was arraigned before Milimani Law Courts, was accused of committing the crime on diverse dates between October 2, 2021, and December 9, 2021, at the hospital. The nurse allegedly stole 12 bottles of Human Albumin Solution all valued at Ksh 81,600 (N295k). He is also facing an alternative charge of handling stolen property, after being found in possession of four bottles of the said drugs on December 9, 2021, during an ambush that was carried out by the hospital’s staff.
