Commencement Of 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II Orientation Course

The Management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released a schedule of major activities for 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II Orientation Course.

The 21-day exercise will hold in all 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory simultaneously.


The Orientation Course will commence with reception and registration of Prospective Corps Members on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, and end at midnight of Friday, 24th April, 2026.


Prospective Corps Members mobilized for the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II service year will be sworn-in on Friday, 24th April, 2026.


Meanwhile, the Orientation Course will come to an end on Tuesday, 12th May, 2026.


Management wish Nigerian graduates mobilized for the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II service year safe trips to the various orientation camps across the country, while reiterating its warning against night journeys.


Accordingly, Prospective Corps Members are advised to break their journeys once it's 6.00pm, and pass the night at any available Corps Members' Lodge, military formation, police station/outpost or palace of a traditional ruler anywhere in the country, then continue the following morning.

Court nullifies Standard Alliance’s liquidation

The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted some reliefs sought by Standard Alliance Investments Limited and its shareholders Standard Alliance Insurance Plc, against the National Insurance Commission over the notice of cancellation of registration of Standard Alliance plc. Other Plaintiffs in the suit NO. FHC/L/CS/1585/2022 were Dickson Odoko and elder Donatus Uba who sued for themselves and on behalf of the shareholders of Standard Alliance Insurance Plc. Apart from NAICOM, other defendants in the suit were a lawyer, Kehinde Aina (NAICOM –Appointed  Receiver/Liquidator of Standard Alliance Insurance Plc) Minister of Finance, and Awodiya Omotayo. The court also awarded N200,000 as the cost of action of the suit in favour of the plaintiffs against the defendants. No faction in Cross River APC, but interest groups, says Duke

  Chief Edem Duke, former Minister of Culture and Tourism, says disharmony in the state APC is about interests. Duke said this on Sunday when he commissioned a new Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC). “There is no faction in Cross River APC; it is interest by various stakeholders in the party in the state. “However, this is good for democracy but we need to come together; reason together; and chart a new course for our great party, ‘’ he said.
