Commencement Of 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II Orientation Course

The Management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released a schedule of major activities for 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II Orientation Course.

The 21-day exercise will hold in all 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory simultaneously.


The Orientation Course will commence with reception and registration of Prospective Corps Members on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, and end at midnight of Friday, 24th April, 2026.


Prospective Corps Members mobilized for the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II service year will be sworn-in on Friday, 24th April, 2026.


Meanwhile, the Orientation Course will come to an end on Tuesday, 12th May, 2026.


Management wish Nigerian graduates mobilized for the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II service year safe trips to the various orientation camps across the country, while reiterating its warning against night journeys.


Accordingly, Prospective Corps Members are advised to break their journeys once it's 6.00pm, and pass the night at any available Corps Members' Lodge, military formation, police station/outpost or palace of a traditional ruler anywhere in the country, then continue the following morning.

Senate panel to present report on Buhari’s impeachment today

The Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters is expected to present its report on President Muhammadu Buhari’s impeachment on Wednesday. The committee is looking into the approval of the payment of $496m out of the Excess Crude Account for the purchase of military aircraft. The 12 Super Tucano aircraft ordered from the United States will be delivered in 2020. The Senate had on Thursday resolved to refer the matter to the committee for legal advice, when lawmakers became divided on it. The panel was given the mandate to see whether the President violated the constitution or not. Most of the lawmakers who spoke on the withdrawal pointed out that the President had breached Section 80 of the 1999 Constitution, while a few disagreed. Gunmen in army uniforms kill six, injure four in Kaduna

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Thursday reportedly killed six persons and injured four others in two separate attacks on Baking Kofi , Kaninkon Chiefdom in the Jema ’ a Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Lagos cultists kill victim, police rescue suspects from mob

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday said its men arrested 27 suspects engaged in different crimes, including armed robbery, murder, and cultism. The state Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters, Ikeja, on Friday, said arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
