Macao A Town In South China Is Banning Entry To Most non-residents

      Macao, a town in South China will ban most non-residents from entering the semiautonomous Chinese territory starting tomorrow, the city's leader said at a news conference Tuesday.
All foreign nationals will be denied entry into the city, Chief Executive Ho Iat-seng said. 
Visitors from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan who have not traveled to foreign countries can enter the city, but they will be required to undergo medical observation for 14 days.
Macao residents who are returning from overseas will be required to undergo medical observation for 14 days, Ho said.
The gambling mecca is one of Asia's most popular tourist destinations. Its economy is heavily reliant on gaming and tourist revenues, which have been severely impacted by coronavirus-related travel restrictions.
Twenty-five people in the city have contracted the virus, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University, 10 of whom have recovered.

Drug addict arrested for stabbing Lagos cleric to death

A 30-year-old man identified simply as David, who is said to be under the influence of hard drugs, has allegedly stabbed a cleric, Akeem Ojiwusi, to death around Odekeye close, in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State.   PUNCH Metro  gathered that David was fond of committing different crimes whenever he got intoxicated and his actions usually put him at loggerheads with his neighbours. On the fateful day the crime was committed, Ojiwusi’s relative, who identified himself simply as Sefiu, said he was at home when the cleric sent him to buy some drugs for his treatment. Nigeria’s VAT performance lowest in West Africa – FG

The Federal Government, on Tuesday, raised concern over the performance of the Value Added Tax in Nigeria as the lowest in the West African region. While describing the development as worrisome, the government stressed the need for a change in policies, adding that the country’s VAT rate was less than one per cent to the Gross Domestic Product. The Director of Tax Policy in the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Basheer Abdulkadir, raised the concern at the opening event of a three-day workshop on the harmonisation of Nigeria’s VAT Act with ECOWAS directives. The programme was organised by the ECOWAS Commission under the context of implementation of support Programme for Tax Transition in West Africa.
