Three APC members die in auto crash on their way to Abuja for 10th National Assembly inauguration

Three members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Imo State have died in a road accident on their way to Abuja for the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly. 
 
It was gathered that the bus they were travelling in had a head-on collision with another vehicle along Agbor road in Delta State in the early hours of Monday, June 12. 
 
Others who sustained injury in the accident were taken to the hospital for treatment.
 
 
Two of the deceased, both males, are from Amaraku, while the other is a woman from Ogbor all in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state.
 
They were going to support Patrick Ndubueze, the Senator-elect for Okigwe Zone, and Miriam Onuoha Okigwe North Federal Constituency for the inauguration to be held on Tuesday, June 3. 
 
Spokesperson of the party in Imo state, Cajetan Duke described the incident as a sad development.
 
“They were travelling in two buses. It is a sad development. The party is saddened by the development. We pray God accept their souls,” he said.

Police kill another man in France during rioting in Marseille sparked by cops' 'execution' of teenage driver Nahel

French prosecutors have opened an investigation into the death of a 27-year old man, fatally shot by a rubber bullet during riots on Saturday July 1, the Marseille prosecutor's office said on Tuesday July 4.   It comes amid the civil unrest across France after a 17-year-old boy ,  Nahel Merzouk , was separately shot dead at point-blank range by a policeman during a traffic stop in a Parisian suburb last week.     Thousands have been arrested in the week of nationwide clashes, with some 45,000 officers deployed to tackle the unrest.   Prosecutors say the death of an unnamed man in Marseille was caused by a violent shock to the chest from a 'flash-ball' projectile as used by riot police, but did not specify who fired or owned the gun.   The man died in the night from July 1 to July 2, while Marseille was engulfed in riots.   Prosecutors said it was not possible to determine where the man was when he was shot or whether the victim had taken pa...

President Buhari receives Dapchi schoolgirls in Aso Rock.   Premium Times reports that the meeting between the girls and the president is holding at the press gallery of the state house.  The newspaper stated that the girls were flown to Abuja on Thursday, March 22, received medical evaluation and were debriefed prior to meeting the president. Nollywood veteran actor, Mr Ibu, finally goes home.

After a long battle with blood clotting on his leg, veteran actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu has died. The actor passed away in a hospital in Lagos state on Saturday, March 2.  According to family sources, the actor has been on life support after he underwent a second surgery for his ailment recently. The family source said that his blood pressure has been over 200 after he had the surgery and that efforts were being made to stabilize it before he sadly passed away this evening.  The actor battled with constant clotting of blood on his leg (diseased blood vessels) and other health challenges for years. In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment. There were plans to fly him abroad for further medical care but that plan was aborted by his doctors who believed he wasn't fit to fly. During the cause of his treatment, his leg was amputated in November 2023. The actor is survived by his wife and children. He was 62 years old. ...
